The painting project was supported
by Belarusian Council for Culture
as part of Belarusian culture days.
This is a series of 40 paintings made with
encaustic, 40x40 cm, on boards and canvas.
It presents a number of new ornaments
common to Belarusian and Ukrainian cultures,
generated with artificial intelligence.
The unity of the ornament emphasizes the cultural
similarity of the neighboring countries.
Yellow-blue accents mean solidarity with Ukraine.
It is visible in the dark, like a nightmare of war, which does not allow itself to be forgotten even at night.
It was about six months of tense time filled with manual, invisible work, but also an interesting experience to create new patterns. The artificial intellignece programme was mixing pairs of images of Belarusian and Ukrainian patterns into a new one, as an automatic weaver.
Thanks to the online version of the exhibition, the project has the opportunity to reach a wider audience. Enjoy!
